We see a range of adult clients with communication and swallowing impairments, typically due to neurological conditions. Please send us an enquiry if you are unsure whether Peacock Speech Pathology is suitable for you.
No, services are only provided for adults or older adolescents.
Yes we see NDIS clients who are plan or self managed. We do not see NDIA-managed clients.
Referrals and Bookings
You do not need a referral to see a speech pathologist.

Rebates
You may be able to claim part of the cost of your session through your private health insurance, depending on your level of cover.
Please check directly with your insurer for details. Clients are responsible for submitting their own claims.
You may be eligible for Medicare rebates for complex and chronic conditions. If you are unsure about your eligibility, we recommend discussing this with your GP. Once your GP has prepared a Chronic Disease Management Plan, you can claim your Medicare rebate after your session. Please note that our consultation fees exceed the Medicare rebate, and an out-of-pocket cost will apply.
Telehealth
Yes, telehealth can be as effective as face-to-face therapy and is often more convenient and accessible for clients. Sessions will be tailored to suit the virtual format.

Some clients may be recommended a FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) or videofluoroscopy swallow study. These tests can be organised if required.
